Processes and Services

The Hall Company offers the following processes and services that aid and enhance The Hall Company product line.
  • CAD Engineering: The Hall Company uses AutoCAD to prepare all engineering drawings. Artworks are typically created using Adobe Illustrator and outputted on an imagesetter to maintain complete accuracy.
  • Screen-Printing: The Hall Company uses flat bed screen print presses to print spot (solid) colors on substrates. Each color is inspected and registered to the next color to create the final precise product.
  • Die Cutting: Most membrane switches, panels and overlays require cutting to shape. We use clam shell die cutting presses that sandwich the steel rule dies to the substrate and cut it into the planned shape. We have an onsite tool room to maintain die accuracy and performance.
  • Chemical Etching: To make an anodized nameplate, we use chemicals that etch the colored surface away to expose the silver aluminum material. This creates a contrast between the colored surface and the aluminum interior. The Hall Company can selectively control this etching and give our customers a nameplate that is durable and attractive.
  • Laser Cutting and Imaging: Our CO2 lasers can be utilized to cut any shape on non-ferrous materials as large as forty-eight inches square. Many parts that had to be tooled with steel rule dies years ago can now be laser cut without soft tooling. Tooling a part should still be used on production runs to keep costs down but lasers offer an inexpensive alternative for prototypes or small quantities.
  • Metal Punching and Shearing: In our arsenal we have sixty ton punch presses, turret presses and hand punches that can add hole patterns to almost any substrate. Cutting the metal to size is managed by the use of hydraulic shears as well as hand shears for the delicate cuts.
  • Assembly: Our shop personnel average fifteen plus years of experience and can handle the intricacies involved in assemblies and laminations
  • Testing: All electronic assemblies are 100% tested every time, all the time. We utilize “Dataswitch” testers as well as computer software to detect switch bounce and switch pressures.
